Are travel packagers able to obtain Alcatraz tickets in 2005?

Yes.

How many tickets are reserved for groups and industry packagers?

As in the past, 130 tickets per sailing, (excepting the noon and last sailings of the day) are reserved for groups and industry packagers. Depending on the season, sailings number between 10 and 14 sailings, daily. There has been no reduction in this level.

How can I, a travel packager, obtain tickets for Alcatraz?

First, you must file a completed application. Once approved, you may request tickets by faxing requests on company letterhead to the Blue and Gold Fleet at (415) 951-8735.

How many tickets can I obtain?

Your company may request a maximum of 50 tickets per sailing per day and may make a maximum of 10 requests per month. The total tickets reserved per month may not exceed 300.

How will tickets be allocated?

Tickets will be reserved on a first-come, first served basis, upon availability only.

Can exceptions be made to monthly ticket level?

No exceptions will be made to the maximum ticket levels.

How can I request tickets for a particular date?

As has been the practice, tickets may be requested one year and one day prior to the date of departure. Requests may be made by fax only, and must be submitted on company letterhead.

How will I know if my request is accepted?

If space is available, you will be notified by fax.

When will I have my request confirmed?

As is current practice, requests will be confirmed eighty-nine (89) days prior to departure.

How is this confirmation policy different from past practice?

There are no changes in the reservation and confirmation timeframes.

If I am unable to obtain tickets, how can my guests arrange them personally?

Very simply: individual travelers may call Blue and Gold Fleet Telesails at (415) 705.5555 for tickets. Or, for immediate sale and confirmation individuals may book online at www.blueandgoldfleet.com. Once at the home page, just click the “Alcatraz” button.

Why can’t I have tickets mailed to me in advance for distribution?

The concessionaire provides all tickets directly to the Alcatraz visitor.

Are there any upcoming changes to Alcatraz ticketing of which I should be aware?

Ticketing is a part of the services that is provided by the concessionaire, currently the Blue and old Fleet. However, a Prospectus, opening the concession contract for competition among prospective bidders was issued July 27, 2004 and has not yet closed.
